As of Today

As of today....

-I am still feeling yucky...but it's a little better! Now it's not all day...and I have good-ish days now, instead of just wanting to die all day, every day. Improvement! I had a few good days that made me think all was well...and then...well...it wasn't quite well, yet. I hold great hopes for this sickness to be over very, very soon...it's making me a little insane. Currently 13 weeks along.

-Darren is in the full swing of his first year in the Photography Program at ACAD. He is enjoying it greatly, and getting a big head from all the nice things his teachers have to say about him. (I am simultaneously proud and rolling my eyes). He also picks up fun little photography jobs on the side on Saturdays...like photographing arts events, marathons, weddings. It keeps him busy, and makes about %90 of his life about photography...but he's not complaining! ;) He works hard shooting people to provide for us. Har...

-A few weeks ago, my parents gave me some dental work as a birthday present. I got the spaces between my teeth filled in! I couldn't stop looking in the mirror for a while after, but I'm used to it now. I like it :)

-The Calgary Temple Open House is in full swing! Being able to go...and to volunteer our time to serve there...had been such an incredible blessing. Renae can't stop talking about it, and sings "I love to see the temple" all the time. Loudly. Not really a belting-type song, but no one's told her. I don't really think it would make a difference, anyways. We kind of love it.

-Micah is talking like crazy, and coming up on his 2nd birthday at the end of the month. It's nuts! In the last month, he's gone from my baby to my little boy, complete with all sorts of attitude. And we are finally at the point where I get really grateful I've had them 16 months apart...because they play, and play, and play...

-Micah's favourite game to play as of late is "puppy." Meaning he crawls around on all fours, panting and barking like a puppy. And licking your leg, or arm... if you're not paying attention. It's way too cute. Renae loves it, too. Her own little pet brother...

-Micah also loves to pretend to be a baby. Which sounds cute, but is really not...because the baby whiny sounds he makes drive me bananas (this is probably compounded by being pregnant...). If he's been a "baby" for too long, I start telling him to be a puppy instead. Sometimes it works. Most times it doesn't. Gaaah...

-Renae is just...Renae. She still insists on dresses every day, loves to change dresses at least 3 times a day (more if I've just done some laundry and she has a closet full of clean ones...can't handle the massive selection, I suppose!). She is all girl...and SOooo sassy. If this is a preview of her teen years, count me out. Or at least count me crazy, for sure, because I'm pretty sure that's the only other alternative to being absent. Oh well...that's what kids are for, right? She is doing her job of humbling me quite well. On the other hand, she gives the best little hugs...

-I am no longer driving a school bus! I may go back in the future, like after Baby is born and it's been a while. But for now, it's just not working for our family. The benefits no longer outweighed the costs It was taking a major toll on a family with a very sick Mama. SOoooo, goodbye, bus....hello, nazi-budgeting and homemade everything! Haha. I'd rather spend my time making bread than barfing on a bus any day.

I totally understand the "benefit don't out way the costs" comment. I'm glad that you aren't barfing on a bus either...that sounds horrible! Love reading your updates!
