Welllll....
It's been two months, a major holiday, and a road trip since the last entry. Turns out having a blog doesn't make you good at keeping it current. I know, surprise, right? Well the secret's out for all those blogger-hopefuls out there...y'know, just so you're not disappointed when the gift of blog-upkeep isn't instantly bestowed.
We're back in the swing of things here in E-town.
The holidays were great. We spent some much-needed--and much-enjoyed--time with family, got to go snowboarding at Castle Mountain on one of those days that wasn't minus a million, and returned home brimming with New Year's resolutions....which have made their way onto cue cards around the house. Darren asks if we plan to wall-paper the house with them. Ha.
January's half-way over already.

The weather has FINALLY given us a break, with above-freezing temperatures the past few days. We've been enjoying it thoroughly, busting out the cross-country skis we now own and giving that sport a try. It's surprisingly enjoyable...and also a surprisingly good work-out....an experience much like a real-life elliptical machine, I'd wager. Darren built a snow-cave in the backyard with all the snow we've had. We even slept in it. We made it through most of the night, and shuffled in at 4:30am for a couple hours of mattress-sleep (the better kind of the two) for a couple hours before church.
I'm half-way through my condensed courses for this semester, and getting really excited about my upcoming teaching practicum. Darren's working hard as a security "officer" (nope, not guard, it's officer...) and putting in some lengthy shifts.
We go for an ultrasound at the end of the month and we are SO stinkin excited. The implications of future parenthood dawn on us a little at a time. We are looking forward to meeting that sweet little baby.
And the next entry will not need to be a monster like this one because it will be soon.
Promise.
