Last night was our church congregation's talent showcase, the day that Darren returned from a scout camp in sub-zero temperatures, and the last day of the famously short month of looove.

The talent showcase was great. It was fun to enjoy and celebrate the accomplishments of others. I have a soft spot for talent shows...even after enduring some pretty hokey ones now and again. I still love them. And after every single one, I find a renewed desire to paint, and sew, and cross stitch, and knit, and woodwork, and take photos...and write more songs....and dance....and cook.....and......

Darren enjoyed his scout camp in Jasper immensely. He's been itching to get into those mountains for months, now.
Hunger: satiated.
Well... for a little while, anyways. :)
The first night they endured temperatures of AT LEAST -30 degrees celsius. Luckily things warmed up (slightly) for their next day, night, and day there. He got to trek through frozen canyons, ice caves, and solidified water falls...and, of course, took some fabulous pictures of it all. Here's a few. He's posted them ALL on facebook, so go there for further perusal.

This month has passed quickly. I am right in the middle of my final teaching practicum. I teach a K-1 "Transitions" class (kind of like an extra year between Kindergarten and grade 1) in the morning and a grade 2 class in the afternoon. I love teaching.
But, I will also love when it's all over.
I'm sooooo ready to be done this degree! Only 6 short weeks left.

We found out recently that Darren has been accepted into the University of Saskatchewan! So come the end of August, we are out to join the Saskatoon crew (Ready, Erin?!). For two people who love the mountains, we're definitely moving in a strange direction, geographically speaking. Otherwise, we feel like we're headed where we should be, and are looking forward to it.

Our little one is well...wiggly and healthy, as far as we know. I'm being pretty stubborn about having the boy-or-girl surprise remain intact...but Darren's got some pretty good, very practical reasons for finding out. He's working on me. :)
We'll keep you posted...
