A Chocolatey Breakfast.
You HAVE to try this recipe from one of my most favourite blogs. It was posted a while ago, but I'd been holding out until I remembered to get all the ingredients. This morning , I found myself with a bunch of ripe avocados on my hands and decided to take the plunge for our breakfast.
Darren said it was a little too chocolatey for him, but for a chocolate lover like me, it was perfect.
Oooh, man.
I would seriously take it over any regular chocolate milkshake, any day. I didn't have raw cacao powder, I just used regular cocoa. Less nutritious, but tastes the same. At least I know now that it just may be worth investing in some for this specific recipe in the future. In the meantime, cocoa works just fine.
Raw Chocolate Milkshake Miracle
Ingredients:
• ¼ cup hemp seeds (or use soaked almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds etc.)
• 2 heaping Tbsp. raw cacao powder
• 1 Avocado
• 1 very large frozen banana (or 2 small)
• 2 Tbsp. raw honey, agave, or maple syrup
• dash sea salt
• ¾ - 1 cup water
• 4 ice cubes
Directions:
1. Blend all the ingredients together; add water to thin if desired. It’s a thick one, folks!
And although the urge to chug may take over, don’t forget to “chew” your milkshake for better digestion! Very important.
Enjoy. Because I sure did.
