Back in Town

A Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We had an awesome Christmas break.
It was crazy. It was busy. It was late nights, no sleep, and too much sugar. It was present-wrapping and secret-keeping. It was excitement and giggles. It was IKEA. It was snow and mountains and driving.
...LOTS of driving.
But most of all, it was family and good friends. Our hearts=full to the brim. No vacation could get better than that.

Between Calgary AB, Kimberley BC, back to Calgary AB, and then to Taber AB....we could stand to not see the interior of our car again for a while. But we got everywhere we needed to go in safety. Thanks, Car.

I'll just mention some highlights that made it great...because ALL the details are probably really only fun for us to re-live in our journals, which this particular blog is not. SO, highlights:

-Darren went snowshoeing with bros-in-law, went snowboarding, and went winter camping. Just enough to fill his adventure-canteen for another couple months. He also played "cards" with his dad and other bros-in-law. This card game included poker chips. This card game was Poker. Baaaah... :)
-Laura went snowboarding when she thought she wouldn't get to. And got to go to IKEA. And got to sleep in until 10am one morning thanks to an awesome mom who tended and early-rising little girl. All in all: SO HAPPY! And spoiled.
-Renae was confused by all the presents, and sat through (slept?) an entire movie in the theatre (Tangled. So good. Go see it.)
-Micah survived his first Christmas. And grew like a weed. And grinned like the Grinch the whole time. And even laughed for the first time! If only we could get him to do it again....

Had a great time. But glad to be home.
And hoping that everyone had their own awesome Christmas.
