Too Good to Keep a Secret...

 Garlic and Cheese Breadsticks.
Darren could eat 20 in one sitting. I could get close to that. And even Renae inhales her little chunk like the bread-a-holic that she is.
I don't know where my mom got the recipe, but we loved them growing up, too.
So here's to garlic, parmesan cheese, and bread. Brought together the way they should be.

1 1/2 cups hot water
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 1/2 Tsp. yeast
(instant? I dunno, that's what I use.)
3 cups Flour
(I use half whole wheat and half white...in the attempt to make them more filling so we don't eat so many in one sitting. It sometimes works...)
1 tsp. salt
---
~1/2 c. melted butter or margarine
Parmesan Cheese
1/2 tsp.-1 tsp. Garlic powder

-Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
-Mix first section of ingredients (water to salt) in order shown
(Okay. So the next part will kind of evolve to your own tastes. Us? We like 'em super garlicky and parmesany. Ease up if you just want a hint of either.)
-Add parmesan to the melted butter until it has the consistency of a runny paste. Add garlic powder according to personal preference, more if you like garlic, etc....I'll often even add minced garlic to the mix.
-Roll clumps of dough into bread-stick-like formations and roll in the buttery-parmesany mixture.
-Place on cookie sheet side by side and bake for 15-20 min, or until cheese is lightly browned.

Enjoy!
