I was cleaning up the computer yesterday and came across these pictures from our West Coast Trail hike at the end of Summer'12. It made me miss summer SO BADLY, as if the long winter wasn't enough, right? Right.
But summer yearning aside, I never posted these pictures! Want to know why? I found out the day before we left that I was 5 weeks pregnant with Bekah. My killer morning sickness kicks in at the six week mark, so the last day and a half of our 7-8 day hike, the pregnancy exhaustion and nausea had started creeping in...and for the longest time, I couldn't look at pictures, touch my hiking jacket, or smell dehydrated onions without getting queasy. Pregnancy is a weird, weird thing.
BUT! Despite all that, hiking the West Coast Trail was AMAZING. I loved it so much. It's crossed off my bucket list, but I can't help but want to do it again. It wasn't terribly difficult, but it was insanely beautiful. Like, blow-your-mind beautiful.
And so, the post that is a year-and-a-half overdue...and (warning!) will only make your jonesing for summer hiking worse. Sorry, not sorry.
These are in no particular order. And these are just the ones that were taken with the little digital camera I had before the battery died; Darren's took some lovely film pictures that he showed on his photography blog. Enjoy!
