And I can't even tell you whether it's because our life is so jam-packed that there's no time to blog about it...or whether it means that life has been recently so devoid of remarkable events that there's nothing to tell.
Okay, just kidding, I can totally tell you that it's definitely been the latter. Not that our life hasn't been full and bustling...it's just all been...so...normal.
A bulleted list of recent mildly-interesting happenings to prove it? ...Well, okay then:
-Darren has fewer and fewer classes to attend the nearer we get to the end of the semester. The extra time is supposed to be for working on final projects and having the flexibility to set up shoots for said projects. Fortunately a nice by-product is extra time with us. These are the times when being a student is pretty rad.
-I am 36 weeks pregnant...and feeling it. Ugh.
-Renae and Micah found a tube of lipstick one day. I have a few toys, articles of clothing, and a blotchy carpet to prove it.
-Darren and I have a new nephew! Welcome, little Will. He is cute and chubby and perfect.
-I have been preparing for a VBAC, and have been researching like crazy. I have read more birth stories and birth-related literature than I ever thought I would. I have a great OB/GYN who is sympathetic and supportive. It's been a struggle to get the support...but things are feeling better and better the closer I get to having this wee bebe; so far, so good! Woohoo!
-Darren is taking his Young Men's group winter camping this weekend up in the mountains, while I wish it was actually spring so I could mow the lawn or plant something.
-Renae got her first big scrape across her face while running up the sidewalk into church, and then face-planting into the pavement. She's still got all of her little nose, so we're counting ourselves lucky. That teeny thing has definite disappearing potential with one really good road burn.
-I scored a sweet find off Kijiji in the form of some perfect dining room chairs. I've been coveting the style for a good long while, and someone didn't know the treasure they had when they posted the chairs and a table for $50. Renae clearly channeled my excitement when she included in her prayers at supper that night "Thanks for our new chairs...." Ha.
-We helped friends pack up their house to move to a different house. Helping someone move always eradicates any desire that I may be having to relocate at the time. Itch=scratched.
-We got a membership to the local YMCA and are loving it...everything from the pool to the gym to the toddler drop-in activities to the climbing wall. It's rad.
-We have not even seriously talked about girls names for this New Arrival. We have had luck in the past discussing and choosing in the afterglow of baby's arrival, when we're happy, tired, high on life, and have the baby in front of us. I suspect such will be the case this time as well. Sooo...no, we have not picked a name yet.
And that's it.
Maybe the next post will bring a picture of a new baby! Darren thinks that the she-baby will be early, and I like his optimism.
I'll encourage it with plenty of walking and trampoline-jumping.
