Anyways, I liked that idea, the photo taking one.
Except that my house is never actually tidy (even tidy-ish!) during the day, when it's light and bright and not all orangey from indoor lights like it is at night, after babies are in bed. (Which wouldn't be so bad, except that my husband has cursed me with the preference for a "good" photo, if I can help it. Dang.)
Also, my house changes all the time.
No...seriously. I thought I got the let's-move-the-furniture itch a lot...until I married Darren. Together we are insane, and always changing things up. Keeps it interesting, I suppose...? But also makes it hard to know when to take a photo of the (never)finished process.
But then yesterday...I looked around mid-morning and realized that my main living area was still relatively tidy from the night before(!)...thanks to kids who had been playing in the basement and "swimming" in the bathtub all morning. It's not perfect, but it's a heckuvalot better than it usually looks in the daytime, pre-bedtime-tidy.
I figured it was now or never. Pictures are the worst for critiquing every little element of your room...like how things are crooked! or off-centre! but I'm posting them anyways.
And so, here you go. Welcome to (a few places in) our home! Don't mind the piece of honey-bread still on the table from breakfast...
Ta-daa! This is our tiny entryway. If you were to go around the corner, you would find stairs to the basement.
If you turned around, standing at the front door, this is what you would see at the top of our stairs.
Walk up the stairs and you get your first glimpse of our dining room/living room.
The dining half of the room!
This is significant because I have kept the plant on the left alive for 3 years! and the little one on the right was a recent Christmas present from friends: an air plant! It only needs water, not even soil or anything...so my chances of keeping this one alive are fairly good as well.
This little credenza is one of my most favourite pieces of furniture. Go ahead and think it's ugly, Darren kind of does sometimes. It won't make a difference. It's still a fave; I may even name it someday.
Then turn around and here's the "living" half of the room.
Probably could have at least straightened up the couch for you...sorry!
and then back towards the front entry...with the halfsie wall that collects everything.
You even get a peek down the abnormally debris-free hallway to Micah's room at the end.
Maybe someday, when I can actually see the tops of my kitchen counters and it's simultaneously daylight, I'll hurry and snap a photo...or maybe a bedroom or two, since those do stay clean a little longer after a good tidy.
That's it. The end!

ahhh, that was an extremely edifying sneak-peak of your house. I must say that I think you are on the tidier end of the spectrum of moms with littles if you are getting it in that good of shape in the evenings.
You painted them yellow! Such a beautiful home. I love it!
