Happy Christmas, Merry New Year!

I will post pictures. Soon. Eventually.

But for now, I just want to type about Christmas.

Wasn't it awesome?! We liked ours. :)

We spent the first few days of the break, including Christmas day, with The Roberts side of the family. We ate good food, went bowling, hung out, opened presents, and played games. It was fun to see all the little cousins playing together, and stealing each other's toys, and hugging, and shoving.
FIVE little ones, 2.5 and under = Overload of cute cheeks to kiss.

We spent Monday and most of Tuesday in recovery. We had been in headless-chicken mode before we left and took the day or two to catch up on laundry and the dishes we left in the sink for three days. Ha. Darren got a headstart on some scanning and we just...breathed.
And then re-packed.

Because we then headed to the Lonsdale side of the family. We had one day all together in which we traded gifts and stuffed ourselves TO THE MAX with our traditional Christmas Ever oriental food feast...just not on Christmas Eve. This feast consists of mostly our favourite Korean food from living in that fabulous little country a few times over...but we're not snobs; we also throw in whatever Chinese/Japanese/Thai/Vietnemese dishes that we happen to feel like eating as well. Seriously, a FEAST.

Then Darren and I left for BC. It's lucky we had kids to come back for, or else we might not have come back. Kidding! ...Or not.
We had a wedding to shoot, and my parents graciously offered to take the kids so that I could shoot the wedding with him and we could have a few days, however crazy, to just ourselves. Whoa.

We drove out Thursday, shot the wedding all-day Friday (congrats, Brandon and Jennine!!!) and then drove home Saturday. We also managed a visit to my hometown and some late-night chatting with Jon and MaryLou, who let us crash at their house and tolerated all of our arriving late and leaving early nonsense.

But really, if it were cheaper to live in BC, I'd be pulling hard for moving back. I miss miss miss that rain. And those mountains. And the green grass! And the ocean. And the hiking. And Vancouver.
Oh man, I should stop.

ANYWAYS.

We managed to get back just in time for our New Year's Eve event: chaperoning the Church Youth Dance, as per our church calling. We were a little zoned out from all the travelling, but still partied like it was 2011 and brought 2012 in with hundreds of teenagers. Awesome :)

I start tutoring this week, and Darren starts classes on Thursday...but bus driving doesn't start until next week. We're taking full advantage of the last little bit of our break with plenty of preparatory freezer-meal-making, photo-scanning, and playing.

Darren picked up some disposable underwater cameras for free off Kijiji...so swimming will definitely be happening this week. Woo-hoo!!!

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

And Happy 2012! Hope it is amazing.
