Renae-isms.

A birthday post for Micah is on its way. I just had to put these all in one place so I didn't forget:

A few days ago, I was having a shower. Usually the babies bang the door down the whole time, no matter how hard Darren tries to distract them. I relented this time and let Renae hang out in the bathroom while I washed up. A few minutes into my shower, I smelled something familiar. I yanked back the shower curtain and saw Renae with nail polish in hand. Her toenails and toes were covered in blue nail polish. As was the floor.

The next day I gave her applesauce for lunch. I turned to the counter, doing my thing. A few minutes later I turned around to find her shoveling her applesauce through the mouth of our jack-o-lantern (affectionately named "Babee Punkin" by Renae). Hope Babee Punkin enjoyed his snack.

That same afternoon, Micah and I went downstairs to ask Darren a question while he was studying. I cam back upstairs to find Renae walking out of the bathroom with a hand covered in food coloring. I sprinted to the bathroom to find ALL the food colouring dumped into the bathtub. At least it made for beautiful pictures...

Last night I came home from tutoring to find that Darren had drawn little mustaches on our kids. In purple pen. They liked it! They thought it tickled, He said. I sighed and smiled because it did look pretty funny to see teensy purple french 'staches on them. Ha.
Two seconds ago, while typing this, Renae spoke up from playing quietly with her toys to say "funny, mommy! Pink chair funny!" Interested to see why she thought her pink monkey-face chair was so funny all-of-the sudden, I turned around to find her, purple pen in hand. She had drawn a "po-po 'sash" (purple moustache) on the monkey face of her purple chair. Awesome.

Anytime Renae finds something out of place, or picks something up at a store and I ask her to return it to its original place, she replies with "back a mommy-daddy?" Everything's rightful place is back with its mommy and daddy, apparently. She saw a Kinder Surprise Egg out of place at Walmart, fraternizing with the Twix Bars. She gasped, exclaimed Back a mommy-daddy! and carefully placed that egg back with it's egg-shaped family members. Phew.

And she calls a bathing suit a "baby soup."
Cracks me up every time.

oh thank goodness she only dumped the food colouring in the tub! that could have been much worse. All in all though, she just sounds delightful.
