Time for an Update

We're totally overdue for a good ol' update. Get comfy, it's quite the story.

Once upon a time, approximately three weeks ago, we lived in a lovely little basement suite in the land of Edmonton, Alberta. I had just finished an intense practicum for school, officially completing my Education degree (WOO-HOO!!!). Darren was continuing with his hard work providing for our family. We weren't sure that we really wanted to continue coping with Darren having two jobs and a brutal work schedule, but had pretty much resigned ourselves to just that, seeing as no other job opportunities seemed to be panning out...AND it was just going to be until we moved to Saskatoon at the end of the summer. We could  deal until then...right?
Then... the opportunity to sell security systems in Calgary came up. We had kind of avoided the whole selling thing again. We did that last summer with pest control...mind you, we got eachother out of it last time, but weren't sure it was the best thing for our little family this time around. Fortunately, the Lord knew our situation better than we did...and helped remind us by having everything--from quitting other jobs, to finding a place to live, to timing--fall into place within a matter of DAYS. We were humbled. And grateful. And GONE within less than a week of deciding to go.
Currently we're residing in Chestermere, in the home of some family friends, in their basement that looks out over the lake. It's beautiful. Darren's doing well at selling, working hard for us. I am a little lost with so much unstructured time my hands so suddenly...but getting used to it!
And getting ready for baby. I've even started sewing. Just a baby blanket...but still: sewing.

...I'm pretty proud of those straight lines I've stitched.  :)
Just thought I'd sign off with this picture of Darren's funny sunburn, the result of an overnight backpacking trip a couple weeks ago. He managed to get sunscreen on his cheeks, but his chin, forehead, neck, and ears got a beating. This picture doesn't really do it justice.
Oh well...I think he's keewwt in any colour.
